This is the Dog! sponsors the Animal Welfare Club at MDC Homestead. In 2024, we opened the first Pet Food Pantry at Miami Dade College.

PET RETENTION is an important part of the solution to dog and cat overpopulation and our overcrowded shelter. Thanks to Farm Share and their partners, we are able to distribute FREE PET FOOD to the community. This support helps pet owners keep their pets, reducing the numbers of pets surrendered to shelters. And, when shelters are full, pet retention helps reduce illegal abandonment.

We partner with other rescues to make more change TOGETHER. Cape Coral Animal Shelter, Redland Dog Sanctuary, Paws4You, Marrvelous Pet Rescue, and Greater Derry Humane Society are some of our BFF's that are committed to bringing solutions to the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.
