Spay and Neuter - The Hope

Spay and Neuter is the one guaranteed solution to ending the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.

Our priority is SPAY and NEUTER! We have dedicated our time and grant funding to FREE spay and neuter for community owned pets in Miami Dade County.  Thanks to the Caspersen Grant (since 2020) and Florida Animal Friends Grant (2024-25), we are helping our community get their pets spay and neutered for FREE! Community Connections

Finn's Pet Food Pantry and Animal Welfare Club at Miami Dade College Homestead

This is the Dog! sponsors the Animal Welfare Club at MDC Homestead.  In 2024, we opened the first Pet Food Pantry at Miami Dade College.

    Farm Share Partnership

PET RETENTION is an important part of the solution to dog and cat overpopulation and our overcrowded shelter. Thanks to Farm Share and their partners, we are able to distribute FREE PET FOOD to the community. This support helps pet owners keep their pets, reducing the numbers of pets surrendered to shelters.  And, when shelters are full, pet retention helps reduce illegal abandonment.

    Rescue to Rescue

We partner with other rescues to make more change TOGETHER.  Cape Coral Animal Shelter, Redland Dog Sanctuary, Paws4You, Marrvelous Pet Rescue, and Greater Derry Humane Society are some of our BFF's that are committed to bringing solutions to the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.
